We can implement LeaveMaster so that employees can use LeaveMaster’s fast, automated system to quickly and easily request alternative leave types such as unauthorised leave, unpaid leave and training leave.

The different types of leave offered by your organisation are displayed in a drop down menu on LeaveMaster’s Apply for Leave page. Staff simply choose the type of leave they wish to take from the menu and select the dates of the leave from a calendar, and LeaveMaster does the rest by automatically populating a form with details of the leave request.

One of the problems with using a manual, paper-based system to book and process leave requests is that each time a member of staff books a holiday, either the employee or their line manager has to manually recalculate the amount of holiday the employee still has left to take that year.

This not only takes time, there is also always the danger that the employee’s leave balance will be incorrectly recalculated, resulting either in a line manager needing to correct the balance, wasting even more time, or the employee taking more, or less, holiday than they were entitled to that year.

According to a new sickness absence survey, UK manufacturers gained, on average, an extra one day of work per employee last year due to lower absence levels.

Conducted by manufacturers' organisation the EEF and Unum, a financial protection provider, the survey also found that 41% of manufacturing companies saw a decrease in short-term sickness absence last year, while, on average, 44% of manufacturing employees did not take a day off sick in 2009.
