Today sees the launch of the government’s new "fit note" scheme, which replaces the traditional doctor's sick note with an electronic Statement of Fitness for Work that allows doctors to say what work their patients can do as well as what they cannot.
However, according to the findings of a new
survey, only 22% of employers believe these new “fit notes” will reduce absence levels in their organisations.
Conducted by Kronos, the survey also found that many employers believe the fit note system will create more problems than it solves: with only 24% of respondents saying they thought the system would solve more problems than it creates.
A more effective way to reduce sickness absence levels in your organisation could be to implement LeaveMaster, as it deters absenteeism by accurately recording and monitoring sickness absence and automatically-calculating the ongoing Bradford Factor score for all your employees.
