According to FirstCare , businesses lost as much as £181 million a week in the first week of January as a result of absence.
The absence management firm recorded absences in both public and private sector organisations in the first week of the year and determined that cold and flu-related absences were up 12% from the same period last year. This meant that employers had to absorb the cost of losing a total of 1,097,000 days to absence, with the NHS alone losing an estimated 71,900 days at a cost of more than £11.8 million.
By deterring staff from taking unwarranted sick days and giving managers and HR professionals a powerful tool for tackling absenteeism, LeaveMaster helps you significantly reduce the costs of absence.
