According to figures released by the Office for National Statistics (ONS), sickness absence is rising amongst UK employees.
During the recession, only 2.1% of UK employees surveyed by the ONS had taken at least one day off sick in the week before they were interviewed. However, this has now risen to 2.5%.
The latest figures also reveal that between October and December of last year, two million working days were lost as a result of absence, with an average of 613,000 employees off sick every week.
You can reduce the level of sickness absence in your organisation by using LeaveMaster in conjunction with the Bradford Factor.
