According to a new report , absenteeism costs UK businesses around £32 billion every year.
Prepared by PriceWaterhouseCoopers, the report also reveals that UK employees take twice as many “sickies” as workers in the USA and Asia-Pacific. The report found that UK workers take an average of ten sick days a year, while workers in the US take only 5.5 days and employees in the Asia-Pacific only 4.5 days.
