Council workers in London take more than 800,000 sick days a year, at an annual cost to the taxpayer of £118 million, absenteeism figures show.
The figures were obtained by Company FirstCare from 25 councils across London.
Hillingdon was found to have the highest absenteeism rate, with employees taking an average of nearly 10 days off sick every year.
According to the data collected, Haringey, Camden, Waltham Forest and Newham councils also have high rates of absence, with the average member of staff in each council taking more than eight days off sick every year.
By using LeaveMaster in conjunction with the Bradford Factor, you can significantly reduce the level of unwarranted sickness absence in your organisation.
